• 1 What is Nodey?

  Nodey is an independent n8n mobile companion app for iOS and Android. Connect an existing n8n instance to monitor workflow executions, diagnose errors with AI, trigger automations with NFC tags or geofences, and back up workflows from your phone.

• 2 Does Nodey replace the n8n web editor?

  No. Use the n8n web editor to build and edit workflows in detail. Nodey gives you mobile access to monitoring, workflow activation, AI debugging, backups, and triggers. Its AI Workflow Builder can also generate workflow JSON and send it to your connected n8n instance.

• 3 Does Nodey work with self-hosted n8n and n8n Cloud?

  Yes. Nodey connects to self-hosted n8n and n8n Cloud instances through the n8n API. You need an existing instance with API access, its URL, and an n8n API key. Your instance must be reachable from your phone; Nodey does not host or run the n8n server.

• 4 How do I connect n8n to Nodey?

  Download Nodey from the App Store or Google Play. Create an API key in your n8n instance, then add the instance URL and API key in Nodey. Once connected, you can view workflows and executions. The n8n API key connects your instance; an AI provider API key is a separate, optional setting.

• 5 What do the AI tools do?

  Nodey includes Workflow Explainer, Error Diagnosis, Security Hardening, Code Optimizer, Workflow Cleanup, Error Pattern Analysis, Performance Profiler, Workflow Builder, Deep Dive, and Debug Companion. Use a Nodey AI subscription or bring your own Claude, Gemini, or Mistral API key. Review AI-generated changes before applying them to a workflow.

• 6 Is Nodey free to use?

  Nodey is free to download on iOS and Android. You can use its AI features with your own supported AI provider API key without a Nodey AI subscription; your provider may charge for API usage. Paid plans offer Nodey AI access. See the in-app purchase screen for current plans, local prices, and usage limits.

• 7 Can I trigger n8n workflows with NFC tags or my location?

  Yes. Nodey can call an n8n webhook from an NFC tag or when you enter or leave a geofenced area. Configure a webhook-triggered workflow in n8n and a corresponding trigger in Nodey. Availability depends on your device, operating system, permissions, and background activity settings.

• 8 Is Nodey an official n8n app?

  No. Nodey is an independent app built by Hesham Mashhour and published by Skin Kins Co. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by n8n. An existing n8n instance is required.
